Privacy policy
Home Fix Ups Hardware, Familia Business Centre, Luthuli Lane off Mfangano Street, opposite Sheraton Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya, is the data controller for the information described here.
What we hold
- Account details: name, email, phone number and the town you give us.
- Order details: what you bought, the delivery area and address, any location pin you drop, and the payment method chosen.
- Messages you send us through the site, and the reviews you leave.
- A session cookie so your cart and sign in work. No advertising trackers.
Why we hold it
To take and deliver your order, to answer your questions, to handle returns and warranty claims, and to keep the tax records we are required to keep. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to anyone for marketing.
Who sees it
Our own staff, so they can pick, pack and deliver the order. The rider or courier gets your name, phone number and address, and nothing else. Payment providers see what they need to take the payment. Nobody sees your password, because we do not store it in a readable form.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for seven years, which is what tax record keeping requires. Message threads are kept while your account is open. Ask us to close your account and we remove your profile and anonymise your orders.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act 2019 you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to hello@homefixup.co.ke or call 0707 156 062.
Payments
We do not store card numbers or M-Pesa PINs. Card payments are handled by the payment provider and M-Pesa by Safaricom.
If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is held on WhatsApp under their own terms as well as ours. We use it to answer questions and confirm orders, not to send marketing.
