Terms and conditions

These terms cover buying from Home Fix Ups Hardware, whether at the counter or through this site. Familia Business Centre, Luthuli Lane off Mfangano Street, opposite Sheraton Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya.

The contract

We sell the goods listed on this site ourselves. When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. The contract is formed when we confirm the order, which is when we have checked the stock is on the shelf. If a line turns out to be short we tell you and either hold the order or refund that line.

Prices and payment

Prices are in Kenya Shillings and include VAT where it applies.
Delivery is added at checkout based on the area, and is charged once per order.
Pay by M-Pesa, card, bank transfer, or cash to the rider on delivery where that is offered for your area.
Orders that are unpaid after 48 hours, where payment is due before dispatch, may be cancelled and the stock released.
If a price is listed in obvious error we will contact you before taking payment rather than fill the order at the wrong figure.

Your part

Give a correct phone number and delivery address. Failed deliveries caused by wrong details are charged again.
Check the goods on arrival where the rider can wait, and report damage the same day.
Fitting of electrical and plumbing goods should be done by a competent person. We will advise, but the installation is your responsibility unless we carried it out.

Stock and listings

We describe goods as accurately as we can, including rating, size, material and what is in the box. Photographs are of the item on our shelf. Manufacturers change packaging and minor details from time to time, and where that happens the specification on the listing governs.

Returns and warranty

Returns and faulty goods are covered on our delivery and returns page, which forms part of these terms.

Accounts

Keep your password to yourself. We may suspend an account used for fraudulent orders or for abuse of our staff.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Kenyan law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Beyond that, our liability is limited to the value of the order in question. We are not liable for loss caused by goods being fitted by somebody who was not competent to fit them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
